Fun in Sobriety is it Important? The answer is yes and with the current situation regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic having fun and trying to keep oneself from becoming isolated has created new challenges for us all. Not being able to enjoy yourself or go and spend time with family or friends is one sure way to lead yourself into depression and as we know depression and isolation are major causes of relapse. So, in keeping with Social Distancing requirements we contacted Desert Air Cinema and rented a huge screen along with a couple of 1000 watt speakers, Cotton Candy making machine, and of course a Popcorn Maker. They came out and set it all up behind are facility here in Tucson. I handed them the Blue Ray Copy of the original 1978 Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis and we were ready to go. Clients arrived with family or friends picked out a spot to set up their chairs or blankets all the time keeping social distancing in mind. They then had an opportunity to get whatever they wanted from the free concession stand we setup and once everyone was settled we watched the movie. Those that could not attend were able to log into the zoom conference we had set up and watch that way as well. Trivia questions were asked throughout the movie and the winners were given gift cards to Applebee’s, McDonalds, etc. All in all, everyone said they enjoyed it and had a good time.
